Meeting Reflection

Meeting Reflection

Meetings can either be a waste of time or a fruitful tool of communication. Effective meetings are those which are held under the following condition:

·       Have a purpose/reason

·       Timed

·       Have a clear output

Such meetings are simply a maximum utilization of company’s assets, such as but not limited to:

·       Time

·       Efforts

·       Resources

This was the case in our meeting which took place as part of our educational learning experience during our Professional Communication course N307 at ADMC. The agenda was apparent and each attendant knew the roll he was supposed to execute. I for example was chairing the meeting and within my roll I had to make sure that needed and related documents, materials were put under the disposal of the attendees. I also made sure that agenda items were discussed as listed and within the time frame allocated. I had to listen thoroughly to the members when discussion and feedback was a cross the table and make sure that they flow in favorite of the item discussed and not against it.

The difference between our practice meeting and the graded one was not much noticeable except in the area of preparation. In the practice meeting we had the chance as individuals and members to prepare and gather information related to agenda items, while in the graded one, we had almost no time to do so.

As a future manager I will exert   my knowledge gained her at this course and my past experience to insure that meeting are held under terms and conditions which guarantees its success.
